Emilia brings more than four decades of experience across the legislative and executive branches, where she led complex investigations and initiated oversight efforts and advised senior officials on government accountability, risk, regulation, and public policy. Drawing on that experience, she helps clients understand what can trigger federal scrutiny, how high-stakes inquiries unfold, and how to prepare and respond.
Emilia spent sixteen years on Capitol Hill, serving on several committees in both the House and Senate, including as Chief Investigative Counsel for the Senate Finance Committee. She also served as Staff Director of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Chief Investigative Counsel for the Senate Special Committee on Aging. She later served as Deputy Inspector General at the U.S. Department of State and Chief of Staff at the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s Office of Inspector General.
