  • Client Services Associate

    Position Summary

    Responsibilities:

    • Compile background research on client-relevant topics and policy matters.
    • Compose memos for staff and client teams on key hearings, briefings and other newsworthy events.
    • Support client teams with research and other tasks.
    • Establish, maintain, and update databases and other key materials.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required:

    • 4-year degree required.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills, communications skills (written and oral).
    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking, with strong computer and document production skills.
    • Knowledge of and experience with Congressional and regulatory processes and major national policy initiatives strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work with integrity, including exhibiting discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving skills to resolve routine questions.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet fast-moving deadlines.

  • VP – Health Advocacy

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a Vice President to join its health policy practice as a full-time lobbyist. Candidates must have 7+ years of experience as a congressional staffer or lobbyist with expertise in fast-paced health care advocacy, including legislative or regulatory work.  Applicants should have an established track record of legislative or regulatory successes, managing multiple high priority workstreams at once, and have close working relationships with Congressional staff from both parties and staff in the Administration.

    Required Experience:

    • Service on Capitol Hill or experience lobbying Congress
    • Competency in one or more subject areas related to health policy
    • Mapping and executing a strategy for achieving client/project goals
    • Contributing to client and advocacy meetings confidently with desired outcomes
    • Managing multiple high priority, complex workstreams

    Responsibilities:

    • Hill advocacy
      • Effectively engage with staff on the Hill to support client and firm goals
      • Generate clear federal advocacy deliverables, including bill introductions and building co-sponsorships, fielding hearing questions, and building key policymaker relationships.
    • Client management
      • Anticipate client and project needs and engage internal and external assets to meet them.
      • Identify challenges to reach targeted objectives and proactively design a strategy/engage resources to seek alternative approaches.
      • Effectively communicate complex political dynamics to clients verbally and in writing.
    • Team collaboration
      • Show clear initiative in applying political strategy to achieve client business goals.
      • Demonstrate superlative analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (focus on public health or related discipline preferred)
    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multitasking and working simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Must be able to function well on a team , including regular and proactive communication.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality.
    • Maintain the highest level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving to resolve routine client questions and critical thinking skills to anticipate client needs.
