  • Associate, Critical Infrastructure

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking an Associate with experience in infrastructure policy and programs. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years’ relevant experience to support our growing critical infrastructure group. Must have a proven track record with federal policymaking and a familiarity with and passion for energy, security, environmental, trade, and economic development issues.

    Experience:

    • 2-3 years of relevant policy experience

    Responsibilities:

    • The candidate will help with research, analysis, and writing on client priorities and supporting multiple client teams with complex projects and tasks.
    • When requested, produce quality memorandums summarizing relevant policy issues for clients.
    • Watch hearings and other key meetings and produce detailed notes and memorandums relevant to client priorities.
    • Conduct administrative functions including scheduling meetings, note taking in meetings, and process tracking for the purposes of regular client reporting.
    • Prepare and process client account paperwork, as needed.
    • Establish, maintain and update files, databases, records and/or other documents.
    • Operate standard office equipment and use the required software applications.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required:

    • Must have 2-3 years’ relevant experience to support growing critical infrastructure practice.
    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking.
    • Must possess strong project management skills, excellent research and communications (written and oral) abilities.
    • Must be able to function well on a team.
    • Knowledge of Congressional and regulatory processes and major policy initiatives in Congress and the Executive Branch strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality.

  • Associate, Healthcare

    Position Summary

    Experience:

    • Research in healthcare policy with either regulatory or political emphasis that will support a growing healthcare practice.
    • Federal or state agency, congressional or private sector experience in program management, research or special projects.
    • Strong writing skills and experience in producing memos showing policy issues and policy/political process knowledge; internal and client meeting agendas; cogent reports on relevant events and news developments. Document production skills and abilities must be strong.

    Responsibilities:

    • The ideal candidate will excel in research, cover complex hearings and events with a comprehensive grasp on content to produce clear, well-thought-out and relevant documents.
    • Excel in a deadline-driven environment with a can-do attitude; ability and wherewithal to communicate challenges in advance of deadlines with the foresight to come up with alternatives and/or challenge solutions.
    • Take clear notes which reflect critical information while in client and team meetings.
    • Track and alert real-time bills, hearings, mark-ups and news.
    • Assist with scheduling meetings for clients, team members, congressional and administration staff.
    • Speak knowledgeably on healthcare policy and political topics.

    Required:

    • Strong time-management, judgment and written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong desire to learn relevant issues within the healthcare scope through inquiry and subject matter research (independently and assigned) all with an attentive approach to assignments.
    • Proficient in PowerPoint and Office 360.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare policy, political science or related field.

  • Human Resources Manager

    Position Summary

    Successful, entrepreneurial, government and public affairs firm based in Washington, DC seeks a Human Resources Manager to manage recruiting, hiring and benefits administration, performance evaluations/actions, and professional development.

    The HR Manager will report to the COO and will collaborate with others on the Management Team as well as the Finance Director.

    Candidates should have:

    • minimum of 3-5 years of relevant human resources experience
    • a bachelors’ degree or higher

  • Programs & Events Associate

    Position Summary

    Venn is looking for a full-time employee who has an interest in coordinating special events. This includes conferences and large-scale fly-ins (political events). Experience in coordinating lobby days, corporate fly-ins, association annual meetings, etc. is a plus. We host a high number of events (internal and external), ranging from small receptions to large multi-day conferences, so multitasking, prioritizing and attention to detail are all must-have skills. The role assists with planning and coordinating advocacy-related programs and activities. The Programs & Events Coordinator will be responsible for providing the team with logistical and administrative support which includes onsite event support, scheduling and calendar management on a mass scale, vendor and/or event specific research, compiling programs, creating agendas and extensive follow-up. Other duties and assignments may be given as the person in this role grows professionally or as needed.

    This is a multifaceted role and will require someone with extreme focus and who works well as on a team, is a self-starter and takes direction with accurate execution.

  • Vice President, Healthcare

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a Vice President to join its health care practice. The ideal candidate is an experienced congressional staffer, HHS official, or seasoned lobbyist with experience in health care advocacy, including legislative and regulatory work.  Applicants should have a strong track record of legislative or regulatory successes and have close working relationships with senior-level Congressional staff as well as political appointees in the Administration.
