  • Vice President – Tax and Financial Services

    Position Summary

    Venn Strategies seeks a Vice President to join its Tax & Financial Services practice. The ideal candidate is a seasoned congressional staffer or lobbyist with experience in tax and financial services advocacy.  Applicants should have a strong track record of legislative successes and have close working relationships with relevant committee, leadership, and member office policy and senior staff.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5-7 years federal policy/advocacy experience.
    • Service on Capitol Hill, with on-committee member office experience for financial services or tax issues preferred.
    • In place of public service, experience actively lobbying and managing client advocacy and project efforts.
    • Proven depth of understanding of major financial services and tax policy issues.
    • Mapping and executing strategy for achieving client/project goals.
    • Extensive experience working directly with external stakeholders and across party lines.
    • Strong network of Hill contacts – particularly in tax and financial services spaces.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Effectively engage with senior-level political and policy relationships and in third-party organizations to support client and firm goals.
    • Demonstrate the ability to independently generate clear federal advocacy deliverables.
    • Anticipate client and project needs and engage internal and external assets to meet them.
    • Identify challenges to reach targeted objectives and proactively design strategy/engage resources to seek alternative approaches.
    • Be a strong and consistent mentor to junior staff members.
    • Provide clear value to business development pitches.
    • Show clear initiative in bringing policy and tactical ideas to the management team and clients on how to achieve client business goals.
    • Demonstrate superlative analytical and communications skills, both written and oral.
    • Provide regular, constructive input to improve the operations of the firm and to bolster the value of the firm’s client work.

    Required:

    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking and working simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Must be able to function well on a team.
    • Must be willing to work flexible hours to represent clients if needed.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality.
    • Maintain the highest level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving to resolve routine client questions and critical thinking skills to anticipate client needs.
    • Ability to follow instructions, including a strong adherence to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and complete work efficiently.

  • VP Health – Continuum Health Group

    Position Summary

    Overview

    Continuum Health Group (Continuum) is a venture of Venn Strategies, an independent government affairs and public affairs firm based in Washington, DC. Continuum’s mission is to drive health equity through partnerships with organizations dedicated to improving the health of all Americans. Continuum offers strategic planning, policy analysis, advocacy support, and enhanced intersectoral collaboration. We do not provide direct lobbying services to provide comprehensive approaches that center our partners’ leadership.

     

    Continuum is led by public health policy experts with experience in the public and private sectors. We are seeking a Vice President to join our team and serve in a key role executing high-impact partnerships, developing innovative policy, and contributing to the overall growth of the organization. This role is ideally suited for someone who excels in external affairs and relationship management as well as policy development and analysis.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Track and analyze relevant federal and state policy and programming related to population health and health equity.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with allied organizations in key public health areas (health disparities, health policy, community health, education, behavioral science).
    • Execute sophisticated policy analysis and development on issues such as:
      • Diabetes management and prevention
      • Value-based care in Medicare and Medicaid
      • Federally qualified health centers funding and reimbursement

     

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in public health, health disparities, or relevant discipline. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for candidates with more than 7 years of extensive experience demonstrating the qualifications described.
    • Dedication to health equity and community-driven public health innovation.
    • Five or more years of experience in public health, health policy or related fields.
    • Experience in complex project management.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the completion of written deliverables such as white papers and one-pagers.
    • Capacity to handle multiple competing priorities, including the ability to be agile, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
    • Be a strong and consistent mentor to junior staff.
    • Understanding of health disparities, social determinants of health, and Medicaid and Medicare.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Proactive, enthusiastic and hardworking.
