  • Vice President, Critical Infrastructure

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a Vice President with familiarity and interest in energy, transportation, critical minerals, environment, and/or trade policy and programs. The ideal candidate will bring 5-7 years of relevant experience to support our growing critical infrastructure practice group. A strong candidate will have a proven track record with federal policymaking, agency engagement, client management, lobbying, and/or the political process.

    Experience

    • 5-7 years of relevant policy experience
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred or comparable experience
    • Independently manage client advocacy and project efforts
    • Maintains deep content competency in one or more subject areas mentioned above
    • Mapping and executing a linear plan for achieving client/project goals
    • Leading client and advocacy meetings confidently with desired outcomes

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively engage with senior-level political and policy relationships and in third-party organizations to support client and firm goals
    • Demonstrate the ability to independently generate clear deliverables for the firm and clients
    • Anticipate project needs and engage internal and external assets to meet them
    • Identify challenges to reach targeted objectives, and engage appropriate resources to seek alternative approaches in a timely and thoughtful way
    • Be a strong and consistent mentor to junior staff members
    • Provide clear value to business development pitches
    • Identify opportunities to expand client work
    • Show clear initiative in bringing policy ideas to the management team and clients on how to achieve client business goals
    • Demonstrate superlative analytical and communication skills, both written and oral
    • Provide regular, constructive input to improve the operations of the firm and to bolster the value of the firm’s client work

    Required

    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking and working simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Must be able to function well on a team.

  • Associate – Health

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a full-time Healthcare associate to provide research, policy analysis and team support. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills with excellent research and communication abilities.

    Venn currently offers a hybrid model for in-office and work-from-home arrangements.

    Experience:

    • Research in healthcare policy with either regulatory or political emphasis that will support a growing healthcare practice.
    • Federal or state agency, congressional or private sector experience in program management, research, or special projects.
    • Strong writing skills and experience in producing memos showing policy issues and policy/political process knowledge; internal and client meeting agendas; cogent reports on relevant events and news developments. Document production skills and abilities must be strong.

    Responsibilities:

    • The ideal candidate will excel in research, cover complex hearings and events with a comprehensive grasp on content to produce clear, well-thought-out, and relevant documents.
    • Excel in a deadline-driven environment with a can-do attitude; ability and wherewithal to communicate challenges in advance of deadlines with the foresight to come up with alternatives and/or challenge solutions.
    • Take clear notes which reflect critical information while in client and team meetings.
    • Track and alert real-time bills, hearings, mark-ups, and news.
    • Assist with scheduling meetings for clients, team members, congressional and administration staff.
    • Speak knowledgeably on healthcare policy and political topics.
    • Proactively manage work process and seek out inputs for client projects
    • Support lobby day or hill briefing with scheduling, outreach, and other logistics.

    Required:

    • Strong time-management, judgment, and written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience providing accurate, timely, and on-point research.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide effective organizational, project, and process support.
    • Strong desire to learn relevant issues within the healthcare scope through inquiry and subject matter research (independently and assigned) all with an attentive approach to assignments.
    • Proficient in PowerPoint and Office 360.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Policy, Political Science, or related field

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a Vice President to join its health care practice and play a leadership role in the practice’s appropriations work in support of new and existing clients. The ideal candidate is an experienced congressional staffer, HHS official, or seasoned lobbyist with experience in health care advocacy, including legislative or regulatory work.  Applicants should have a strong track record of legislative or regulatory successes and have close working relationships with senior-level Congressional staff as well as political appointees in the Administration.
