  • Outreach Associate (Contract Position)

    Position Summary

    Fast-paced, independent boutique lobbying and public affairs firm in Washington, DC seeks an Outreach Associate with 1-3 years of relevant experience to support growing national grassroots campaigns.  The candidate will assist with direct engagement of potential advocates for priority issues.  Candidate must possess excellent communication (written and oral) abilities, be comfortable and confident on the phone, function well on a team, capably multi-task, and must be client-oriented. Campaign, state, local or federal government experience a plus, must have demonstrable knowledge of campaigns, Congressional and regulatory processes, and major policy initiatives in Congress and the Executive Branch.  Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

  • VP – Health Advocacy

    Position Summary

    Venn is seeking a Vice President to join its health policy practice as a full-time lobbyist. Candidates must have 7+ years of experience as a congressional staffer or lobbyist with expertise in health care advocacy, including legislative or regulatory work.  Applicants should have an established track record of legislative or regulatory successes and have close working relationships with Congressional staff from both parties and staff in the Administration.

    Required Experience:

    • Service on Capitol Hill or experience lobbying Congress
    • Competency in one or more subject areas related to health policy
    • Mapping and executing a strategy for achieving client/project goals
    • Contributing to client and advocacy meetings confidently with desired outcomes

    Responsibilities:

    • Effectively engage with staff on the Hill and in the Administration to support client and firm goals
    • Demonstrate the ability to independently generate clear federal advocacy deliverables.
    • Anticipate client and project needs and engage internal and external assets to meet them.
    • Effectively communicate complex political dynamics to clients verbally and in writing.
    • Identify challenges to reach targeted objectives and proactively design a strategy/engage resources to seek alternative approaches.
    • Show clear initiative in bringing policy ideas to the management team and clients to achieve client business goals.
    • Demonstrate superlative analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (focus on public health or related discipline preferred)
    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multitasking and working simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Must be able to function well on a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality.
    • Maintain the highest level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving to resolve routine client questions and critical thinking skills to anticipate client needs.

  • Operations Associate

    Position Summary

    Venn is looking for an Operations Associate to support the daily administrative and operational functions of our business. The operations associate will work closely with the Vice President of Operations & Programs and the Senior HR Manager to ensure smooth internal processes. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business operations and contribute to a dynamic team.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Administrative, Operational & Human Resources Support

    • Support administrative needs, including interview coordination and internal meeting scheduling.
    • Contribute to website updates, digital platforms, and tools such as Substack and webinar series.
    • Assist with client onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Help develop, organize, and refresh operational documents, templates and resources.
    • Support compliance processes (quarterly reporting, filings etc.).
    • Provide general operational and administrative support for various projects as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree in business admin or a related field preferred
    • 2-3 years of in-office operations experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with HR processes and procedures preferred
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
