  • Client Services Associate

    Position Summary

    We offer our clients a wide range of deliverables focused on advocacy, issue management, coalition management, grassroots engagement, alliance development and strategic advisory services.     Responsibilities:

    • Compile background research on client-relevant topics and policy matters.
    • Compose memos for staff and client teams on key hearings, briefings and other newsworthy events.
    • Support client teams with research and other tasks.
    • Establish, maintain, and update databases and other key materials.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required:

    • 4-year degree required.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills, communications skills (written and oral).
    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking, with strong computer and document production skills.
    • Knowledge of and experience with Congressional and regulatory processes and major national policy initiatives strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work with integrity, including exhibiting discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving skills to resolve routine questions.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet fast-moving deadlines.

  • Assistant VP – Tax, Trade & Finance

    Position Summary

    Assistant Vice-President: Tax, Trade & Finance 

    Venn is seeking an Assistant Vice President with familiarity and interest in tax, trade, and finance policy and programs. The ideal candidate will bring 5-7 years of relevant experience to support the TTF practice group. A strong candidate will have a proven track record with federal policymaking, agency engagement, narrative/communications building, and the political process.

    Experience:

    • 5-7 years of relevant policy experience
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred or comparable experience
    • Independently manage client advocacy and project efforts
    • Maintains deep content competency in one or more subject areas mentioned above
    • Mapping and executing a linear plan for achieving client/project goals
    • Leading client and advocacy meetings confidently with desired outcomes

    Responsibilities:

    • Effectively engage with senior-level political and policy relationships and in third-party organizations to support client and firm goals
    • Demonstrate the ability to independently generate clear deliverables for the firm and clients
    • Anticipate project needs and engage internal and external assets to meet them
    • Help develop and execute coherent client strategies
    • Identify challenges to reach targeted objectives, and engage appropriate resources to seek alternative approaches in a timely and thoughtful way
    • Be a strong and consistent mentor to junior staff members
    • Provide clear value to business development pitches
    • Identify opportunities to expand client work
    • Show clear initiative in bringing policy ideas to the management team and clients on how to achieve client business goals
    • Demonstrate superlative analytical and communications skills, both written and oral
    • Provide regular, constructive input to improve the operations of the firm and to bolster the value of the firm’s client work

    Required:

    • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, capable of multi-tasking and working simultaneously on multiple projects.
    • Must be able to function well on a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Uphold a professional image with external and internal business contacts.
    • Work ethically and with integrity, including maintaining client and firm confidentiality.
    • Maintain the highest level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective problem-solving to resolve routine client questions and critical thinking skills to anticipate client needs.
    • Ability to follow instructions, including a strong adherence to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
    • Required to be present in the office at least 3 days per week in Washington, DC.
